Here’s how you can tell if it’s time to sell your business.

“How do I know it’s time to sell my business?” Every situation is different, but there are a few common threads that let you know it might be time to sell. 

If you feel like your company is stagnant, you’re lacking motivation, you’re losing market share, or feel like technology is passing you by, you may want to consider selling. However, in my experience, it’s time to sell when you feel like you are no longer the best shepherd of your business. 

When I sold my business about a year ago, I knew for months that I wasn’t the best caretaker for my employees and their futures. People would come up to me with great ideas for expansion and innovation, but I wouldn’t do anything with them. When I was driving alone, I would ask myself, “Am I still the best operator for this business?”
